KELLI WHITMAN won the Adult medal on her horse "Winter Carnival" aka Teddy.
CHANDLER HAWK took third place on "Fire in the Hole" aka Fire, owned by Chelsea Watson and generously leased to Westwind Equine Training Center.
We would like to congratulate 7 yr. old MAGGIE STILES who rode Pro A Neveran in Saturdays' ETHJA Hunter Show at Virginia Intermont, who were Reserve Champion in the Beginner Hunter division out of 20 riders!! We are all so proud of you. Also, a big congratulations to Tess Addington who won the Pony Medal divsion on "Sunday" a mare that was rescued by Westwind and Susie Lones 10 years ago from a kill lot. What a Cinderella story!
RESCUED FOM A SLAUGHTER LOT Horse #4 Track name "Nuts and Wire, (grandson of Storm Cat, son of Noble Cat), a 7 year old off the track TB gelding, was adopted hours before the slaughter truck arrived in Kentucky. Information will be updated as he will arrive on Sunday, August 1. His last race was in June 2010 at Riverdowns in Ohio and then thrown away like trash!!
He is very sweet and settling in. It may take a few months to determine his soundness but he didn't deserve to DIE in such a despicable manner after racing until he was 7 years old.
